Spring 2025

Sending postcards has always been a part of my travels and a way to capture moments and landscapes to share with loved ones. As someone who now lives far from her home country I have expanded this tradition into my creative practice. This body of work narrates this simple yet thoughtful action, a poetic way to invite my family to be part of my journey in Wales with its tranquil and spectacular scenery.

In the scaled up dimensions of a postcard, maintaining a 3:2 ratio, the paintings are hand-drawn textures with a minimalist graphic style. A rich monochromatic palette is enhanced with subtle touches of gold, evoking the magic of these wild places and their quiet beauty.

Away from the sometimes kitsch postcard aesthetics, I wanted to bring a simple and efficient design. One that suggests the place without visually spelling it. The intention behind the textured lines is a reminder of the harmonious imperfections of nature, giving depth and life to the painting.

Between a tribute and a nostalgic act, this artwork aims to depict the Welsh wilderness in an elegant simplicity. A postcard from Wales to the rest of the world to bridge the distance and connect people.

These pieces have been presented to the Spring Open at the gallery MADE in Cardiff. Both paintings Mountain and Valley have been selected and Mountain has been exhbitied.
